Bad, bad blogger

Okay, I suck as a blogger....I just looked and my last post was January 21st. That's terrible. I admit there's been nothing really to say, but still....I should at least post hello once in a while.

2009 has not been quite as busy as the latter part of 2008. We hosted our third and final baby shower a month ago. It was small and intimate and a big success. B & E enjoyed themselves and just last week welcomed their new addition, Hayden.

I have been a knitting fiend since October or November. I posted one of the projects, but I'll repost the picture here.

For Patti & Mark as well as for our other friends who were expecting in January I knit them each a sweater. I don't have a picture of the one I made Patti, but it's identical to this, but in a sagey green. I forgot to take a picture before I gave it to them. I understand from Patti that Jack is now fitting into the sweater.

After completing the two sweaters (and they were both finished for their respective showers in November), I made my nephew a sweater. My intention was to have it finished for Christmas, but with everything else going on (read my last post), it just wasn't happening. I did get it finished in mid January and we were able to give it to our nephew when we visited Ot.tawa (and saw Gil too!) over our long weekend in February. We had an enjoyable time visiting with my cousins, my BIL, SIL and their family and seeing Gil and D. I said to Gil that it's like we've been friends for years as we just seem to pickup where we left off. Below is the sweater MM got. :)

Once I was finished the sweater, I started in on the next project - a baby blanket for the soon to be arriving Hayden. I had really wanted to get it finished for the baby shower in early February but that just wasn't going to happen, so I took my time and decided to have it finished for when he arrived. It's actually much easier than it looks.

So now, no more knitting projects...at least not for the moment. I've actually started reading again...in between the reality shows. :) But I have not been exercising. at. all. Considering my goals, this is very bad. So, I'm determined that this week that changes. I want to get onto the treadmill a couple of times a week and back on the Wii.Fit too. We also have a Gil.lian Mich.aels Wii game that is quite good and puts you through various exercises...Gil.lian style.

So, I've got just over 2 months until our nephew's Bar Mitzvah (one goal) and a maybe a month following that for our last cycle (the other goal). Hopefully I can be a little smaller than I am now for those two events.

Anyway, I will try blog a little more often, even if it is just to say hello.

So good to get an update!
I can't believe you knitted all that! The lion sweater and the blanket seem impossible. I can't even wrap my head around you doing this by hand. Of course, my knitting pretty much tops out at scarves.

It's funny. I've never knitted a scarf or a hat for that matter. It's always been baby sweaters and the animal sweaters (there are 5 or 6 different styles)...this is the first blanket I've done too. And to be honest, they aren't hard, just time consuming.

Wow i so wish I could knit anything! All of the items you created are amazing. I can only sew a button or two, so sad I know.
